Gameplay Overview
Ys vs. Trails in the Sky: Alternative Saga is an arena-style fighting game that blends mechanics from Ys Seven with elements of Trails in the Sky. Players can choose from a roster of 17 playable characters, including Adol Christin (Ys) and Estelle Bright (Trails in the Sky), while also utilizing support characters from other Falcom titles like Brandish and Gurumin. The game features:
- A Story Mode, where players battle through a narrative involving heroes summoned to defeat a demon lord.
- An Arcade Mode, for quick battles without story progression.
- A Multiplayer Mode, supporting both competitive and cooperative play.
Combat involves fast-paced action with RPG elements, such as equipping gear, leveling up characters, and managing resources like stamina and SP for special moves. The gameplay has been compared to titles like Power Stone and Dissidia Final Fantasy, offering a mix of accessibility and depth.
This remaster brings new life to a cult classic that combines two of Falcom’s most beloved RPG franchises. Fans of Ys and Trails can look forward to experiencing this unique crossover with modern enhancements when it launches worldwide next year.
