Xeno Brigade Extinction is the latest game to be released for the ZX Spectrum Next home computer, launching this coming weekend at the Crash Live event, which is a UK-based ZX Spectrum event taking place in England’s Midlands.
For the uninitiated, the ZX Spectrum Next is a modern reinvention of the original 1980s ZX Spectrum, which offers modern specs and functionality while still retaining that nostalgic home computer feel. While it’s very much a niche product, the machine has attracted a healthy number of developers who share that passion and nostalgia for the ZX Spectrum, and the computer even has its own dedicated magazine in the form of Crash Presents Next Magazine.
One of the publishers of ZX Spectrum Next software is Technoshed, who will be launching Xeno Brigade Extinction at Crash Live.
Xeno Brigade Extinction has been developed by Greenman Soft and is a strategy game for one or two players, inspired by the classic ZX Spectrum turn-based strategy games. The game is a sequel to Xeno Brigade, an earlier ZX Spectrum Next title from the same developers. While Xeno Brigade Extinction is officially launching at Crash Live event this coming weekend, it is available to pre-order now, directly from the publishers, Technoshed.
