Welltris Drops onto Tetris Forever

Welltris on Tetris Forever

We previously reported on Digital Eclipse’s impressive Tetris Forever compilation of classic Tetris games, “well” now Tetris Forever has got even more impressive, with the 3D Welltris joining the Tetris Forever party!

Welltris was first released for MS-DOS in 1989, with versions for other formats following later. Notably, Welltris was the first Tetris sequel to be designed by Tetris creator Alexey Pajitnov.
In Welltris, Tetriminos (and other shapes) fall down four sides of a well.

In addition to adding Welltris to Tetris Forever, Digital Eclipse have also implemented some other improvements to the collection. All players can now individually remap their controls in Tetris Time Warp, the new four-player game which is  included in Tetris Forever, and players can also remap their controls in the Electronika 60, MS-DOS and Apple II games on the console versions of Tetris Forever. This functionality was previously added to the PC version in November.

And the improvements won’t be stopping there, as It is Digital Eclipse‘s goal to continue to improve and expand on Tetris Forever with more games and features. The teams at Tetris and Digital Eclipse continue to explore adding new games to the collection, as well as addressing further feature requests and reported issues. The team’s next priority is to address an issue in some classic games that prevent users from saving or registering high scores, for which they expect to issue a fix in early January. It seems that Tetris really is forever!
