Florent Gorges, the well-known video game researcher and author, recently revealed on Twitter that the last two volumes of his “History of Nintendo” series are currently being translated into English. These books aim to document Nintendo‘s transformation from a playing card manufacturer to a leading video game company, containing previously undisclosed stories.
While the first two volumes, which cover the company’s toy manufacturing phase and the creation of the Game & Watch series, were translated into English in 2011 and 2012, they are now out of print and hard to come by. The remaining two volumes concentrate on the Nintendo Famicom and the Nintendo Game Boy, and have only been available in French or Spanish. Gorges has indicated that both missing volumes will soon be released in English, although a specific release date has not been disclosed.
