The collection includes designs representing different eras of the Gundam universe:
A white shirt featuring characters from “The Witch from Mercury” with Suletta’s motto “If you run, you gain one. If you move forward, you gain two” on the back
A black shirt showcasing Kira Yamato’s three Gundam units from “Gundam SEED” and the 2024 film “Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Freedom”
A black shirt featuring classic mobile suits from the original series, including the RX-77-2 Guncannon, RX-78-2 Gundam, and RX-75-4 Guntank against Char Aznable’s Red Comet MS-06S Zaku II
A special 45th anniversary white shirt displaying an assembly of eight iconic Gundam units from across the franchise’s history
Each shirt is priced at 1,990 yen (approximately $13.60 USD) and will be available in sizes from XS to 4XL. The collection will be sold in Uniqlo stores across Japan and through their online store. While international availability hasn’t been officially announced yet, there’s a good chance the collection will eventually be released worldwide given Gundam’s global popularity.
On the 7th of April 1979, Mobile Suit Gundam aired its 1st episode. Created by the legendary Yoshiyuki Tomino, this series was the start of one of the most influential & recognizable Mecha franchises of all time.
