UK Man Jailed 4 Months for Carrying Zelda Master Sword

A 48-year-old man from the UK, identified as Anthony Bray, has been sentenced to four months in prison for possessing a 6-inch Master Sword replica in public. The incident occurred in Nuneaton, Warwickshire, where CCTV operators observed Bray carrying the sword through the town center. Despite Bray‘s assertion that the sword was purchased as a fidget toy, he was charged with possessing a bladed item, a violation of UK law unless justified.

Bray, with a record of prior offenses including burglary, acknowledged that the replica may have been perceived as threatening but maintained he had no intention of using it as a weapon. Despite his defense, he was found guilty and instructed to pay a victims’ surcharge of £154. Law enforcement reiterated a strict stance on bladed items in public, underscoring that Bray could have avoided the situation by selecting a different fidget toy and exercising greater self-awareness of his actions.
