The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remake Could Arrive Very Soon

Bethesda’s long-rumored remake of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion is reportedly set for an imminent reveal, with multiple sources indicating a release date potentially earlier than initially expected. Previously anticipated for June 2025, the remake is now reportedly launching even sooner, possibly as early as April or May 2025.

Insider NateTheHate, known for reliable Microsoft-related leaks, recently indicated that Bethesda is preparing to officially unveil the Oblivion remake either this month or in April. According to these reports, the game could be released before the previously expected June window—potentially as soon as next month (April 2025).

The Oblivion remake is reportedly being developed by Virtuos and will be a full-scale remake rather than a simple remaster. It will utilize Unreal Engine 5 instead of Bethesda’s Creation Engine, featuring significant visual enhancements and revamped gameplay mechanics. Specific improvements include reworked systems for stamina, sneaking, blocking (inspired by Souls-like games), archery, hit reactions, and a redesigned HUD.

Originally listed as an “Oblivion Remaster” in leaked Bethesda documents from the FTC case regarding the Activision Blizzard King acquisition, the project has since evolved into a comprehensive remake developed by Virtuos.

Bethesda has yet to officially confirm these details, but considering the credible insider sources and corroboration from multiple outlets, fans can reasonably expect an imminent announcement followed by a swift release within the next few months.
