Super Mario Bros 6. Would be a wonderful treat for many of us retro gamers, but it’s unlikely that we’ll be seeing such a title from Nintendo any time soon. However, this Super Mario Bros. 6 fan hack could bring us the next best thing.
This new fan hack by Kensu William is based on the bootleg cartridge of Super Mario Bros. 6 that was doing the rounds unofficially back in the day. Super Mario Bros. 6 is actually a patched version of NES Tiny Toon Adventures that swaps out Buster, Babs, et. al. for Mario and his Mushroom Kingdom pals.
The patch makes Super Mario Bros. 6 playable in either English or Spanish, and the changes it makes to Tiny Toon Adventures are: all enemies replaced by enemies from the Super Mario universe, all bosses now belong to the Mario universe (including the Secret boss. Some level design adjustments to make better use of resources. Some levels have been totally changed to fit the theme of the game, cinematics telling a totally new story along with other minor changes.
However, Super Mario Bros.6 is not available to download as a complete ROM. You’ll need a US ROM of NES Tiny Toon Adventures, and patch it yourself using the download available the patch from this link, where you can also find out more details about Super Mario Bros. 6.
