Sega is planning to make Persona, Sonic the Hedgehog, and Like a Dragon yearly releases through mainline entries, spin-offs, and side games, according to a reliable insider. Despite facing rocky times in the past with games like Sonic Forces, Sega has recently found success by focusing on these three main pillars.
Recent releases such as Infinite Wealth, Persona 3 Reload, and Sonic Frontiers have showcased Sega’s commitment to these series, with smaller titles like Persona 5 Tactica, Like A Dragon: Gaiden, and Sonic Superstars also being released. The insider confirmed Sega‘s intention to make these series annual franchises through new titles, remakes, remasters, DLC expansions, and other media. While Sonic and Like A Dragon have been consistent in their yearly releases, fans have been eagerly awaiting Persona 6, but the insider clarified that spin-offs and DLC expansions are also considered as part of Sega‘s annual release strategy.
