Haunted Lands is a new retro action platformer inspired by John Romero’s classic Dangerous Dave. The game is due for release on Steam in 2025 and developer Alevgor is seeking playtesters who can apply for access via the Steam page. Haunted Lands has five playable characters each with its own unique gameplay style and attributes. There are also numerous artefacts to collect, the most powerful ones can even drastically alter the character’s abilities.

The story is set in a world overrun by bloody enemies with the heroes doing everything they can to cleanse the land. The enemies come in all shapes and sizes from common minions to deadly cultists and their elite, buffed versions, plus formidable bosses, players will face a challenge no matter which character they choose. Those seeking an even greater challenge, can try completing every objective with each character and uncover every hidden secret. Only the most skilled will descend into the hellish depths of Haunted Lands and emerge unscathed.
