Resident Evil certainly seems to be one of those gaming franchises that, quite appropriately, just won’t die. We recently reported that Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3 remakes would be infecting PS5, and now Capcom have announced that a remake of Resident Evil 2 will also be spreading to several Apple devices on December 10 2024.
The remake of the survival horror classic is coming to all iPhone 16 models, iPhone 15 Pro models, and every iPad and Mac with the M1 chip or later. Users of these devices will also have the chance to play a portion of game via a free download before purchasing the full game.
Resident Evil 2 on iPhone and iPad includes enhanced controls along with a new autofire feature, giving players the option to automatically fire weapons after aiming at enemies for a short time. The title also supports a range of compatible controllers on iPhone, iPad, and Mac.
The beloved zombie survival sequel was first released on PlayStation back in 1998, and this remake has been rebuilt from the ground up using Capcom’s RE ENGINE, offering a fresh take on the game, with updated visuals, immersive audio, a new over-the-shoulder camera, and modernized controls on top of the gameplay modes from the original game.
