Pizza Pop! has been revealed as the first of the three previously Japan-only Famicom games from Jaleco that Broke Studio will be bringing to the West for NES. We previously reported that Broke Studio had plans to bring three Famicom games to the West for the first time, and while the second two of the games are still mysteries, Broke Studio have, today, announced that the first of the three games will be a game called Pizza Pop!
Pizza Pop! is a platform game that was originally released in Japan for the Nintendo Famicom in 1992, and now, some 33 years later, Pizza Pop! is finally receiving a NES release in the West. Let’s hope that Pizza Pop! is still as hot and tasty here and now in 2025 as it was back in 1992!
Pizza Pop! will receive a physical NES release via Broke Studio’s Homebrew Factory publishing platform, on which we have also previously reported.
Pizza Pop!’s Western debut on NES will be an enhanced version of the game, which promises improved hitbox detection, a full English translation, and both PAL and NTSC compatibility.
The NES release of Pizza Pop! will be released by Broke Studio via Homebrew Factory on May 6th, 2025.
