Nintendo Museum is Set To Open On October 2

Nintendo has announced that the highly anticipated Nintendo Museum will open its doors on October 2, 2024 in Kyoto, Japan. This museum will offer visitors a comprehensive look at Nintendo’s rich history and innovative contributions to the gaming industry.

 

 

 

Museum Features The Nintendo Museum will be spread across multiple floors, each offering unique experiences:

 

Second Floor Exhibits:

 

  • Displays of Nintendo products throughout history, from pre-gaming items to the latest consoles like the Switch
  • Exhibits showcasing the evolution of iconic Nintendo franchises like The Legend of Zelda
  • Artifacts from Nintendo’s early days, including products from before they entered the video game industry

 

First Floor Experiences:

 

  • Interactive exhibits utilizing modern technology
  • A giant floor screen for playing the Japanese card game Hyakunin Isshu
  • Various gaming experiences, including:
    • Ultra Machine SP (pitching machine)
    • Ultra Hand SP (ball-grabbing game)
    • Love Tester SP
    • Zapper & Scope SP (shooting game)
    • Oversized controller area for playing games from Famicom to Wii
    • Game & Watch SP using shadow play
    • Retro gaming area with over 80 games from NES to N64 eras

Ticketing Information Tickets for the Nintendo Museum will be sold through a lottery system:

 

  • Adults (18+): 3,300 yen
  • Youth (12-17): 2,200 yen
  • Children (6-11): 1,100 yen
  • Preschoolers (0-5): Free
