Nihon Falcom’s ‘Star Trader’ And ‘Xanadu Scenario II’ Set To Release On Switch

Nihon Falcom’s classic games Star Trader and Xanadu Scenario II are being re-released for the Nintendo Switch as part of D4Enterprise’s EGGCONSOLE series.

Star Trader: Originally released in 1989, this game is a hybrid of a side-scrolling shooter and adventure game. It involves space exploration, with players interacting on a space station and engaging in shoot ’em up sections. The Switch version is already available in Japan and is expected to be released internationally soon.

Xanadu Scenario II: This is an expansion pack/sequel to the original Xanadu, released for the PC-88 in 1985. It features an expanded soundtrack and a storyline centered around defeating a newly resurrected Dragon King. The game will be available on the Switch in Japan on August 29, 2024.

Both games are part of the EGGCONSOLE series, which focuses on reissuing classic Japanese computer games for modern platforms. While these releases will not be fully translated, they will include English menus and a “How to play” section to assist international players.
