Retro publisher Edition64K has announced its latest book titled Psygnosis Tome 1. It follows on the heels of its last book, Demoscene: The Amiga Renaissance, and will be up for pre-orders on the 11th April 2025 for one month. To best explore the history of Psygnosis, the book has been divided into two volumes. The first volume (1980-1993) covers the creation of Psygnosis up to the date of its acquisition by Sony in 1993. Volume 2 (1994-2012), due for release next year, will be devoted to the games that launched the PlayStation, as well as numerous hits up to the publisher’s demise in 2012.

Psygnosis Tome 1 will tell the story of many games released by the iconic developer during the 80s and 90s. Lemmings is one of those games getting its own section with the author describing it as “one of Psygnosis’ most famous games, and its impact on the industry. How DMA Design created the innovative concept of these little characters to save. The game became a worldwide phenomenon, captivating millions of players and cementing Psygnosis’ reputation as a creator of innovative games”.

For those merch-hungry retro games, there is a wide variety of t-shirts, postcards, bookmarks and collector boxes that will be unlocked as the crowdfund campaign hits certain targets. In a press statement, Edition64K said. “The book is almost complete and will be ready for printing at the end of the campaign, which ends on May 11. Shipments are expected to start around June 15.”
