Paladin Studios, a long-running game developer based in the Netherlands, has closed its doors after operating since 2005 and employing 45 people.
The independent studio announced its closure on its website, citing financial difficulties and a lack of sufficient work in recent months. Co-founder Derk de Geus stated that the company had reached a point where continuing would have led to insolvency, prompting the decision to wind down operations and provide proper severance to all employees. Despite the closure, Paladin‘s existing games will remain operational, and the studio plans to continue providing technical support for them in the future.
De Geus also encouraged potential employers to consider hiring their skilled staff, who are described as among the finest in the industry, for roles in design, programming, art, production, QA, management, or support.
