Mystery Tower has been released as this week’s Arcade Archives title from Hamster Corporation,  and as is usually the case for Arcade Archives releases, the game  is available for both Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4.

Mystery Tower is an action puzzle game that was originally released into arcades by Namco in 1986. The game was developed for Nintendo’s VS. arcade hardware, and was released in Japan under the title Tower of Babel, and as you might expect for a game running on Nintendo’s VS. hardware, Tower of Babel received a home conversion to the Famiciom in Japan, however, the game didn’t make it it to the West until it was released to the Nintendo Switch Online service as recently as 2023, under the title of ‘Mystery Tower,’ but thanks to Arcade Archives, PlayStation 4 owners and Nintendo Switch owners who don’t subscribe to the s Switch Online ervice can now enjoy the game via a standalone purchase.

Here’s how Hamster Corporation describe Mystery Tower: “The Mystery Tower is an ancient structure full of secrets that stretches up to the heavens. You play as an archaeologist, seeking its peak on an adventure. Stack blocks to stand on as you make your way to the goal. Can you solve all the puzzles along your way to the top?!”
