On April 7th, Sotsu and Sunrise revealed a new project for the “Mobile Fighter G Gundam” series during the special 45th-anniversary program for the “Mobile Suit Gundam” series that aired on Sunday. The program featured notable voice actors including Toru Furuya, who played Amuro Ray in “Mobile Suit Gundam“; Tomokazu Seki, the voice of Domon Kasshu in “Mobile Fighter G Gundam“; and Kana Ichinose, who voiced Suletta Mercury in “Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury.“
“Mobile Fighter G Gundam” tells the story of the Gundam Fight, a competition where fighters representing various space colonies pilot Gundams to battle for supremacy. The series is popular for being the first “Mobile Suit Gundam” entry that does not include the “Universal Century (U.C.)” setting in its world-building. It celebrates its 30th anniversary in 2024, three decades since its first broadcast in April 1994.
