Mikado, a respected name in Japan’s arcade gaming scene, has recently decided to raise its prices, following the lead of other game centers. Known for its locations in Tokyo’s Takadanobaba and Ikebukuro, Mikado has managed to thrive where many other arcades have struggled.
Specializing in classic arcade games from the 1980s and ‘90s, Mikado has become a gathering place for community events and tournaments focused on fighting and shooter games. However, with inflation and rising electricity costs putting pressure on the economy, Mikado has made the decision to increase the cost of playing on its gaming machines.
