We recently reported on the release of Mighty S. Fighters, a new homebrew fighting game for the 8-bit Amstrad CPC home computer, and now, that game’s developers, GGP, have announced Mighty Renegades GGP, which will be their net Amstrad CPC homebrew release.
This time, the game will be a side-scrolling beat ‘em up, and although it looks not dissimilar to Taito’s classic Renegade, developers GGP are at pains to point out that Mighty Renegades GGP will be “An original beat’ em up, a new game not remake.” Though they do, indeed, cite Renegade as an influence on the game, along with Double Dragon, so 80s-style side-scrolling street brawling would certainly seem to be the order of the day in Mighty Renegades GGP.
Mighty Renegades GGP is currently very much a work in progress that’s in its very early stages of development, so a release date for the game has not yet been announced by GGP, but for now you can follow the progress of the development of Mighty Renegades GGP via GGP’s X feed, and you can find GGP’s previous Amstrad CPC releases over on their itch.io page, including the aforementioned Mighty S. Fighters, which has now been slightly retitled under the new name of “Mighty Steel Fighters GGP”.
