Fans of the Lunar series have spotted something interesting about the upcoming Lunar Remastered Collection. The remaster keeps the original lyrics from the introduction song of the PlayStation 1 versions, which were localized by Working Designs back in the 1990s. This has led to speculation that the remaster might also use the original Working Designs script for the dialogue and story. Keeping these lyrics hints at a potential continuation of the localization style that many fans loved.
Interesting that they're using the Working Designs song... Does that mean they have access to the WD locs? https://t.co/aaGPIePF1Y

These days locs are almost always the property of the hiring party (like 99.9% of the time). Back then occasionally the translators kept the rights in their contracts - sometimes more too (like when the Harvest Moon name got trademarked by Natsume).

This decision has brought mixed feelings among fans. Some are excited about the nostalgia, while others wonder if it might limit possible updates or improvements to the script. Regardless of these discussions, the remaster is highly awaited for its enhanced visuals, widescreen support, and new voice acting, giving both longtime fans and new players a chance to enjoy these classic JRPGs in a fresh way.
I reeeeeeally hope that they don't stick with the Working Designs loc. I never liked their style. They also made the game waaay harder for absolutely no reason.
