Lord Sugar launches Amstrad history website

Lord Sugar

Lord Sugar has announced the launch of his new website which celebrates his Amstrad computers. The site charts the history of the Amstrad company, from its humble beginning in 1968 to a billion-dollar company by the end of the 80s. It all started with the selling of aerials from a minivan before building up to producing a line of reliable affordable home computers. Although these computers were initially designed for business use, it wasn’t long before bedroom coders started developing games.

There is a comprehensive list of products Amstrad sold, from satellite boxes to fax machines as well as the all-important home computer range that so many beloved games were released on. There are also links to in-depth articles and YouTube videos to support the information.

The website has lots of interesting facts and figures about the company and Lord Sugar himself. He also asks fans to send in their memories of using the iconic 80s hardware by using a form on the website. There have been several submissions already ranging from business owners, those who used them in school and game designers who all started out using Lord Sugar’s computers.
