The new Survival Kids game for the Switch 2 will feature:
Up to four-player co-op gameplay, both local and online
A story involving four curious kids who discover an ancient map and embark on an unexpected adventure
Survival mechanics including exploring, chopping, crafting, fishing, and cooking
A unique setting of islands on the backs of giant creatures called Whurtles
Puzzle-solving elements as players work together to find their way home
The game’s premise involves the protagonists being shipwrecked during a storm and stranded on a series of mysterious islands. Players will need to master the challenges of the islands, use Harmony Stones to tame the storm, and ultimately make their way back home.
This revival comes after a long hiatus for the franchise. Following the original Game Boy Color game, the series saw several sequels across multiple platforms, including:
A Japan-exclusive follow-up for the Game Boy Color
Three Nintendo DS games released under the name “Lost in Blue” in the West
A Wii entry localized as “Lost in Blue: Shipwrecked” in 2008
The new Survival Kids game is scheduled for an exclusive launch on the Nintendo Switch 2 on June 6th, 2025.
