The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism has shared Minecraft world data replicating a section of the “National Sanuki Mannou Park” in Kagawa Prefecture. This initiative is part of the PLATEAU project for 3D urban modeling and open data. The recreation in Minecraft includes features like a roller slide and artificial waterfall, providing an immersive experience for players. The Ministry also conducted survey work to expand the replicated area.
This project aims to promote digitalization in the infrastructure field and enhance productivity at construction sites. By making the Minecraft world data available on various platforms, the Ministry hopes to familiarize children with three-dimensional data and spark their interest in surveying technology. It is the first instance of a national park being replicated in Minecraft, showcasing the potential for utilizing technology in educational and recreational settings.
