In September 2023, Sony announced the forthcoming resignation of then-CEO Jim Ryan, with his departure officially scheduled for April 1, 2024, to be succeeded by Hiroki Totoki. Totoki has now formally assumed leadership, temporarily overseeing the PlayStation division while maintaining his existing commitments at Sony Group. He will collaborate closely with Kenichiro Yoshida, Chairman and CEO of Sony Group Corporation, alongside the management team of Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE), to navigate the strategic course for PlayStation’s future and facilitate the selection of a new, permanent CEO for SIE, as per the company’s statement at that time.
