Despite having a dedicated fanbase, the Okami and Viewtiful Joe franchises have yet to achieve commercial success, leading Capcom to leave them untouched for years.
In a recent interview, Hideki Kamiya, the director of both titles, voiced his interest in creating a sequel.
“I still feel like I haven’t fulfilled my duty. So Capcom, please…”
As Kamiya points out, the initiative now lies with Capcom. Only they have the power to revive these franchises.
