Forgotten Worlds seeks funding for issue 4

forgotten worlds

We all remember the good old days when the local shop was filled with gaming magazines. It was our internet back then, waiting patiently for each issue to be published. However. there is a vibrant scene of dedicated writers who keep those memories of flicking through magazines alive. Forgotten Worlds, an Australian retro magazine, is seeking funding to get its fourth issue printed. This magazine is different in that it looks back to the old magazines themselves rather than retro games as a whole.

Issue four will have 100 pages of interviews and features about the glory days of printed magazines and will be A5 size. Interviews include Rich Leadbetter who is well known for his time at CVG, Mean Machines and Digital Foundry. The other interviews are with EGM’s Dan Hsu, Mean Machine’s Jazz Rignall and Will Overton who is known for many excellent cover designs.

To round out an excellent issue, there will also be articles about some other classic magazines including Super Play, Game Pro, Compute!, and Hyper. You can back the crowdfunding campaign on the Forgotten Worlds’ Kickstarter page now. There is the standard edition available or an exclusive limited one that includes some collectable postcards handwritten by the editor. The issue is expected to be sent out to backers in November 2024.
