The PC mod for Final Fantasy IX, known as the Moguri Mod, has received a significant update after a long hiatus, featuring improvements that enhance the game’s visuals beyond current official remasters. Utilizing AI through Stable Diffusion, the mod upscales the game’s 2D backgrounds, enhances artwork, and upgrades FMV sequences while also implementing bug fixes.
The latest version, 9.0, refines 2D visuals and introduces new shaders for character and enemy models, offering “Toon” and “Realistic” styles. To use the mod, players need the Steam version of Final Fantasy IX, 5GB of storage, and the Memoria mod launcher.
