The Xbox 360 marketplace has officially closed after nearly 19 years of operation, with former Xbox executive Larry Hryb reflecting on the end of this era. As of July 29, users can no longer make new purchases on the Xbox 360 or Marketplace website; however, they can still redownload previously bought games, play online if supported, and access backwards-compatible games on newer consoles.
Hryb, who has been a significant part of Xbox since 2003, expressed gratitude for the community’s support and feedback throughout the years. While the store’s closure marks a nostalgic farewell for many players, Xbox continues to offer options for purchasing compatible titles on newer systems.
Almost 19 years on, all good things must come to an end. We are in the final 24 hours (or so) of the Xbox 360 Marketplace.

It was my pleasure sharing all the thousands of marketplace sales and updates I’ve given over the years.
Thank for having fun, playing fair and filing…
