A new narrative adventure game called The Sword of Stone is set to be released for the Sega Game Gear by publisher 2Minds.
Developed by European developer cireza, the game was previously entered in the SMS Power! coding competition, where it ranked fourth out of 18 entries.
Players will have the option to choose from three characters and embark on a quest to prevent a war between four kingdoms. The game features a top-down perspective similar to The Legend of Zelda, allowing players to explore villages, forests, and deserts. It also includes a command menu for interacting with NPCs, such as recruiting characters to join you and negotiating with monsters instead of fighting them.
The game was created using smsdevkit and other tools like graphicsgale, bmp2tile, and DefleMask, catering to fans of retro gaming and handheld consoles.
