Dezaemon 3D, a shoot ’em up creation tool originally released for the Nintendo 64, has received a full English translation, including functionality for the Nintendo 64DD. This fan-driven project allows English-speaking players to fully enjoy the game, which was previously only available in Japanese.
https://t.co/gODHPxMyBu update: Zoinkity has provided us a full english translation of Dezaemon 3D, the shoot 'em up maker that also happened to be the first N64 game to support the #64DD (but the disk was unreleased) and also the N64 Mouse. pic.twitter.com/IjWI1XUCWf

Key Features of the Translation
- Comprehensive Translation: The translation covers nearly all aspects of the game, including tutorials, menus, prompts, and sample games. The only untranslated element is a label on a single cup of tea.
- Nintendo 64DD Functionality: Dezaemon 3D was initially designed to support the 64DD, a peripheral that allowed for expanded game features such as larger game sizes and additional save capabilities. Although the 64DD was not commercially successful and its disk for Dezaemon 3D was never released, the data for these features was included in the cartridge version. The translation project has made these features accessible.
- Emulation Support: While running Dezaemon 3D with full 64DD functionality can be challenging due to emulator limitations, it is recommended to use emulators like Ares that support 64DD disks for the best experience. This setup removes many of the restrictions present in standard emulation.
- Community Contribution: The translation was led by Whowasphone404 and implemented by Zoinkity, who have been instrumental in bringing this project to fruition. Their efforts are part of a broader community initiative to translate and preserve classic games.
This translation not only opens up Dezaemon 3D to a wider audience but also highlights the dedication of the fan community in preserving and enhancing retro gaming experiences. By enabling full use of the 64DD features, players can now explore the game’s potential in ways that were previously inaccessible.
