Chibi Monster brawl is a cutesy homebrew monster brawler for the NES up to four players, and while the game has been available digitally for NES for a while now, also appearing on last year’s Indie Heroes 3 cartridge for Evercade, soon NES owners will be able to enjoy the chibi brawling madness on on their NES hardware, as the game’s developer, Dale Coop, has taken to X to reveal that a physical NES cart of Chibi Monster Brawl is on its way, though Coop hasn’t confirmed a release date yet.
We do know that whenever the game is released, NES owners are in for a treat, as we’ve already played Chibi Monster Brawl, and it’s a lot of fun, with its cutesy monster battles evoking the likes of Super Smash Bros, but in an 8-bit NES style.
Here’s how developer Dale Coop describes Chibi Monster Brawl: “Legendary monsters have returned from their ancient tombs and eerie haunts. They are hungry… for victory! Take control of one of seven monstrous characters and fight to collect the most boogly boo berries to become the Grand-Chomp-ion! Whether you’re brawling with friends or challenging yourself in solo mode, Chibi Monster Brawl promises fast-paced fun, wild battles, and the ultimate test of your monster skills!”
If you’re interested in the physical release of Chibi Monster Brawl, we suggest you keep an eye on Dale Coop’s itch.io page, where you can also buy a digital copy of the game for $10, if you’d prefer to do your Chibi Monster Brawling on a NES emulator.
UPDATE!!! Pre-orders for the Chibi Monster Brawl NES cartridge are now open at this link.
