Bungie‘s original Marathon series is making its way to Steam, with the first game in the trilogy now available for free. The classic sci-fi FPS Marathon, originally developed by Bungie for Mac, has been revived for modern hardware by the fan community through the Aleph One project.
Additionally, Bungie has announced a reboot of the franchise with a new game titled Marathon, which is described as a sci-fi PvP extraction shooter. The game is set to be released for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, although a specific launch window has not been confirmed. Following an internal delay, the game is reportedly aiming for a 2025 release.
Today, we're thrilled to announce that the Aleph One community is bringing the original 1994-1996 Marathon Trilogy to Steam starting with Marathon 1.
