Kara Fantasy is a new pixel art adventure game from developer BUG-Studio and retro publisher Ratalaika Games. The game will be heading to Steam in the future and a new trailer shows us everything we can expect. While Ratalaika Games hasn’t said anything, it’s quite clear that this new adventure title is paying homage to the early Zelda games. Even the story is similar in that a young boy, Hiro, must go on the quest of a lifetime to rescue Princess Kara after she is kidnapped from her chambers.

Consisting of 30 levels, this colourful action romp will take you on a journey filled with puzzles, monster battles and five different lands. There is an arsenal of weapons to utilise including swords, bows, boomerangs and plenty of other Link-inspired gadgets and gizmos. There will also be opportunities to upgrade your equipment and concoct powerful potions by collecting resources along the way.

We imagine this will be a budget release, which would be in line with Rataliaka Game’s business model of providing great value retro-inspired games. There is no news if Kara Fanatsy will reach consoles yet, but we imagine it will appear at some point.
