Bleem.net crowdfund campaign launched to create one stop retro shop

bleem.net

Mention the name Bleem to many retro gamers, and hushed whispers of playing PlayStation games on your Dreamcast come to mind. But that has all changed now, the name is being used for a new bold venture that aims to curate video game history and allow for easy access to a large library of retro games. Bleem.net has been described as “the future of retro gaming” by the creators of the project, Piko Interactive LLC, as they look to secure funding to get the versatile platform online. The proposal is to create a free-to-access platform with benefits for those who subscribe for $7.99 a year.

The website is designed to be a one-stop shop for all retro fans’ needs by providing DRM-free gaming platform. As well as providing retro games to play in its browser software, the service will offer the code, assets and other development goodies as well as curated historical documents such as advertising from old magazines. These master files can be used in emulators or as pre-configured executables that simply play once downloaded.

The site will also include a marketplace for many geeky goodies such as comic books, t-shirts and toys. There will also be a streaming service offering live content as well as video on demand. Bleem.net is also seeking collaborations with other retro companies, websites, databases and educational institutions to create a legitimate platform for distribution as well as promoting the world of retro gaming in general.

Bleem.net is more than just a store—it’s a movement to preserve, celebrate, and innovate the retro gaming experience,” said Eli Galindo, President at Piko Interactive. “We are building a platform that not only revives classic games but also paves the way for new indie projects and community-driven content.”
