Assault Suit Leynos 2 is the 32-bit follow up to the Mega Drive/Genesis mecha shooter Assault Suit Leynos (known as Target Earth in North America), and this sequel has finally made its way its way onto western consoles for the very first time, under the title Assault Suit Leynos 2 Saturn Tribute. The game has been produced and developed by City Connection using the Zebra Engine, with full localization into multiple languages. Assault Suit Leynos 2 Saturn Tribute is set in the year 2123 AD, and in the game, players are thrust into a space-faring conflict that’s hit boiling point, following the assassination of a high-ranking politician. The weapon of choice in this alternate future is the Assault Suit, a humanoid robotic weapon, and players will take charge of the 12th Special Assault Suits Squad in a fight against a relentless mechanized army.
Modern quality of life features in Assault Suit Leynos 2 Saturn Tribute include rewind, quicksave/quickload, button configuaration, rapid fire, and increased durability.
Assault Suit Leynos 2 Saturn Tribute is available now digitally on PlayStation 4&5, and Nintendo Switch, priced at $24.99 / €24.99 / £22.49, plus a 20% launch discount. This will be followed by a physical release on 22 May 2025, priced at $34.99 / €34.99.
