The hotly anticipated Neo Geo Evercade cartridge, on which we previously reported, has been delayed according to a statement from Evercade owners Blaze Entertainment, which has been issued on their official Evercade blog.
It certainly seems that delays to Evercade cartridges are becoming more and more frequent, and once the cartridges do finally see release, they are are often subject to stock shortages.
The reason given by Blaze Entertainment for the delay to the Neo Geo Evercade cartridge is that Blaze wants to “allow everyone as much opportunity as possible to pre-order the new cartridge and allow further updates to the current US tariffs and import duties.”
The Neo Geo Evercade cartridge, titled Neo Geo Arcade 1, is now due for release in August 2025, a month later than originally planned, with pre-orders for the cartridge now set to open at the end of May.
In the same statement, Blaze Entertainment also addresses availability issues of Evercade products in North America, attempting to reassure North American Evercade fans by stating that “We have recently signed a new distribution deal for the US and Canada and we hope, upon resolution of the current tariff situation, that we can improve Evercade availability in the US going forward.”
