A new retro-inspired adventure title has been announced by solo developer Alex K. “Quest of Dungeloria is a short Metroidvania with elaborate locations.” Alex K. said in a press statement. He went on to say. “Forget about linear progression, the entire game world is a puzzle. The melancholy of a dying fantasy kingdom. Hardcore platforming, puzzles, bosses, gear items and a lot of secret places.”
Dungeon of Dungeloria will be released on all current Microsoft, Sony, and Nintendo consoles in the fall of 2025, as well as on PC on Steam. In a trailer accompanying the announcement statement, it shows that there is lots of retro-style gameplay features, including 2D platforming, puzzle solving to open new areas, and battling with lots of enemies. The tone of the game appears to follow the Wonderboy series as much as it does Metroid-style titles.
There was no news of any demos or early access for Quest of Dungeloria, but the game looks close to being finished when looking at video footage and screenshots. We hope to bring you more news of this one as we get it, but in the meantime, the developer has invited retro fans to start wishlisting.
