In November last year, we brought you the news that Spreadcheat, a new 90s-style puzzle game, would be heading to Steam in 2025. We now know the ‘90s office-inspired title will hit the Steam store on the 5th May 2025 at $6.99. Those working the early shift who want to get stuck into their spreadsheets and photocopiers early can enjoy a 20% discount starting on the release day.
SpreadCheat is an Excel-based puzzle game, where you solve increasingly difficult puzzles in a retro Windows 3.11 corporate-themed environment. In the game, players will cheat their way up the corporate ladder by solving spreadsheet puzzles. They’ll work under the guidance of a seedy ’90s finance bro-boss. Players will also use nerd powers to build a career, screwing over colleagues one cell at a time.
Between puzzle crunching, plunge into a series of absurd office antics straight out of the golden decade. Battle malware, clean up chaotic desktops, fix your boss’s cursed PowerPoint, and perfect the ancient art of looking busy – all in pursuit of spreadsheet supremacy. With a soundtrack guaranteed to bring back crispy feelings of the web 1.0-era, SpreadCheat lets you forget all about your work and worries as you delve into the work and worries of this virtual 90’s corporate puzzle gig.
