D*Fuzed back in development for Game Boy

d*fuzed

D*Fuzed is a new Game Boy title that is now being developed by Incube8 Games following its acquisition of the IP from previous developer Asobitech. The game was announced several years ago, but progress in its development was halted after Quang of Asobitech was faced with personal challenges. Now the development of the game is back up and running with Incube8 Games confirming the development should be completed by the end of April 2025.

In D*Fuzed, players control a robot on a mission to defuse bombs through a turn-based adventure. The game’s development is now being handled by Fran Matsusaka, who is known for their work on Wing Warriors for the Game Boy Color. There is a demo of the game available to download for use with emulators and SD card carts.

In a press statement, Incube8 Games said. “To ensure the game’s completion and quality, we have reached an agreement with Quang to acquire D*Fuzed’s rights and finish the game development. This decision is made with both Quang’s and our customer’s interests in mind, aiming to honor his original vision while delivering the game promptly. Continuing to develop the game has added more stress and pressure on him, and we believe that by removing this task from his mind, we are allowing him to focus on his well-being. Our goal is to support Quang while ensuring that D*Fuzed reaches you in the best possible form.”
