R.C. Pro-Am II set to Race Back onto NES

R.C. Pro-Am II Collector's Edition

R.C. Pro-Am II is Rare’s 1992 sequel to their 1988 NES game R.C. Pro-Am (who could’ve guessed?!) The R.C. Pro-Am games are isometric racing games with combat elements in which players race radio-controlled cars.

R.C Pro-Am II saw a re-release in 2015 via the Rare Replay compilation, but now, thanks to Retro-Bit and Limited Run Games, R.C. Pro-Am II is racing back onto the console where its race first began 33 years ago.

R.C. Pro-Am II is available in a Collector’s Edition, which includes a numbered deluxe hard-cover cartridge box, an an asphalt (NTSC-U) R.C. Pro-Am II 8-Bit cartridge, an instruction manual, an exclusive acrylic cartridge display stand, and holographic commemorative stickers.

The R.C. Pro-Am II cartridge is only compatible with NTSC NES consoles.

Like the Game Boy re-release of Battletoads Double Dragon, on which we reported yesterday, this new NES release of R.C. Pro-Am II is not part of the Limited Run Collection, despite being sold via Limited Run. Limited Run Games note that “This release is not a part of the Limited Run Games Collection and is not a numbered release. We are distributing this title on behalf of Retro-Bit. Missing out on this release will not compromise a complete Limited Run set.”

Pre-orders for the R.C. Pro-Am II Collector’s Edition are now open via Limited Run Games, and will close on Sunday, April 13, 2025, at 11:59 PM Eastern Time, with the game scheduled to ship between October 24 and 31.
