Neo Geo brawler Final Vendetta release update

Final Vendetta fans awaiting the highly anticipated Neo Geo release of the critically acclaimed game can breathe a sigh of relief as there is an update from publishers Bitmap Buerau. In a statement sent to customers, the retro publisher explained, “Our goal is to deliver a game that meets the highest standards of quality and performance, even if that means making some difficult decisions along the way.”

The difficult decision is to delay the game due to a technical issue discovered while development continued. “During our final testing phase at the end of last year, we discovered an intermittent audio playback issue.” Bitmap Bureau said. “Rather than compromise on the quality you deserve, we decided to implement a last-minute revision of the PROG PCB board. We’ve been waiting to update you once we knew where we were with the fix.”

While the delay will be disappointing for those waiting for an AES or MVS cart, there is good news. Extra content is being added to the Neo Geo port of Final Vendetta. “We’re also excited to announce that the game will now include four extra unlockable music tracks hidden in the game, composed by the amazing Featurecast,” explained Bitmap. Furthermore, a new character has been added to the roster. “One of the most exciting updates after several requests is the introduction of a new playable character: Karen the Boxer. Karen brings a fresh dynamic to the game, offering a unique play style that sets her apart from our original trio of characters.”

The publisher also confirmed it’s on target to ship the completed games by the second quarter of 2025 and that the special edition versions of the boards were not affected by the audio issue. The game is already available to buy on Switch, Xbox, PlayStation and PC.
