Retro Endurance 8bit may be a new game for current PCs rather than one for retro hardware, or a re-release of an old game, but we can’t exactly ignore a game with a title as magnificent as “Retro Endurance 8bit,” can we?

Retro Endurance 8bit has been described as “a very fun fast-paced action retro game collection that plays almost like a board game. However, you don’t get to pick the games to play. Instead, the game picks it for you then switches between them every few seconds!”

Sounds a bit like a cross between Mario Party and Wario Ware, all in a retro 8-bit style!

The currently available early access build includes 21 classic retro style games with more to come. Genres featured include racing, platformer, adventure, RPG, card, and shoot ’em ups.

The game employs random generation algorithms in all games so they will feel different each time you play, and it offers unique boss battles where you battle the boss while constantly switching between different game genres every few seconds until you deplete its hit points.

Also on offer is split screen local competitive multiplayer, in which you and another player can play each other side by side with the same random deterministic values for fairness. At the end of the multiplayer session, you can also see a breakdown on how you both did on each separate game against your opponent.

There are also daily challenges, with a new challenge every day with a fixed sequence of games with leaderboard support.
More games will be added for free in future updates, but the price of the game will increase as more games are added, so buy early to get Retro Endurance 8bit at the best possible price.
