Unused Tomb Raider 6 Dialogues Restored in Remaster

The upcoming Tomb Raider IV-VI Remastered collection, releasing on February 14, 2025, will restore several unused dialogue lines from Tomb Raider: The Angel of Darkness. This remaster, developed by Aspyr and Saber Interactive, aims to enhance the original trilogy of The Last Revelation, Chronicles, and Angel of Darkness with modern visuals, updated gameplay mechanics, and previously cut content.

The restored dialogue includes unused voice lines for both Lara Croft and Kurtis Trent. These lines will provide additional hints and context for the story, helping players better understand the narrative’s darker themes and complex plot. The remaster team has also reintroduced other cut content, such as new notebook entries for Werner Von Croy’s journal and inventory items like Von Croy’s cane, which holds a secret that can now be unlocked in-game.

Kurtis Trent, a secondary playable character in Angel of Darkness, is also receiving significant upgrades. His abilities, including wielding the Chirugai blade and projecting a psychic shield, have been restored. Additionally, his movement mechanics have been improved to match Lara’s agility, allowing him to sprint and shoot around corners in stealth mode.

These changes are part of a broader effort to address criticisms of Angel of Darkness, which was initially released in 2003 to mixed reviews due to rushed development and unfinished content. The remaster also features improved controls, allowing players to choose between classic tank-style controls or modernized schemes with full 360-degree camera rotation.

By restoring unused dialogue and other cut elements, Aspyr hopes to give Angel of Darkness a second chance to shine while preserving the legacy of the original trilogy. Fans can look forward to revisiting these classic adventures with enhanced storytelling when the remastered collection launches next month on all major platforms.
