To celebrate the 25th anniversary of The Sims, EA has announced a series of exciting updates, events, and free items, kicking off on February 4, 2025, the franchise’s official anniversary date. Players of The Sims 4 will receive a significant free update that includes over 70 new in-game items, a limited-time event called Blast from the Past, and more.
The free update will add new Create-A-Sim (CAS) options, such as hairstyles for toddlers and adults, baby hairs for existing styles, a goatee, and new clothing like turtlenecks, bodysuits, jeans, and bike shorts. Accessories include a gold chain, pearls, and new shoes like heels and sneakers. Build/Buy Mode will also get new furniture items like stylish windows, doors, wood finishes for kitchen cabinets, and even a pirate ship playground for kids.
The Blast from the Past event will feature nostalgic rewards inspired by the 2000s, such as a milk carton collectible, an inflatable chair and loveseat, a triple-tiered birthday cake, an alarm clock, and a telephone. These items will be available through weekly challenges during the event.
Additionally, EA will host a 25-hour livestream starting on February 4 to celebrate the franchise’s legacy. The stream will include special guests and showcase The Sims’ impact over the past two and a half decades. Other updates include redesigned townie homes for iconic families like the Goths and Landgraabs.
