Dragon Quest 3 Pixel Sprite Collection Launching April 2025

Square Enix has announced the release of Dragon Quest 3 Pixel Sprite Lights, a new merchandise collection celebrating the original Dragon Quest 3 from the Famicom/NES era. These pixel sprite lights will be available in Japan starting April 22, 2025, with pre-orders already open on Square Enix’s Japanese e-Store.

The collection includes four designs based on the classic character sprites from the original 1988 Famicom release: Hero, Warrior, Priest, and Mage. Each light is priced at 3,520 yen (approximately $22.20 USD), and purchasing all four would cost around 14,080 yen (approximately $88.80 USD). Each sprite light functions as an LED block that lights up when powered by three AAA batteries, similar to the Final Fantasy Record Keeper sprite lights released in 2024.

These lights are a nostalgic nod to Dragon Quest 3’s iconic pixel art, which has been celebrated for decades as part of the franchise’s legacy. The timing of this release follows the successful launch of the Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake in November 2024, which brought modern visuals and gameplay enhancements while retaining the charm of the original sprites.

Fans of Dragon Quest will be able to enjoy these collectible lights as both a decorative item and a celebration of one of the most beloved entries in the series’ history. While currently limited to Japan, international fans may access them through import services or Square Enix’s global store if they become available later.
