A new fan project has brought the NES Ninja Gaiden Trilogy to the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) as a native port, offering a fresh way to experience these classic games. Developed by Infidelity, this NES-to-SNES conversion combines all three Ninja Gaiden titles—Ninja Gaiden, Ninja Gaiden II: The Dark Sword of Chaos, and Ninja Gaiden III: The Ancient Ship of Doom—into a single SNES ROM. Unlike Tecmo’s official 1995 Ninja Gaiden Trilogy for the SNES, which was criticized for being a lackluster port, this project faithfully recreates the NES originals while leveraging the SNES hardware for added enhancements.

How It Differs from Tecmo’s Official SNES Trilogy
Tecmo’s 1995 Ninja Gaiden Trilogy for the SNES was widely criticized for removing features like parallax scrolling and altering music tracks, leading many fans to prefer the NES versions. In contrast, Infidelity’s fan-made port seeks to preserve the authenticity of the original games while addressing technical limitations of the NES hardware.
Availability
