Slam and Roll is a new 2D platformer developed by KaleidoGames. It was released on Steam early access in May 2024 but will now be available on Switch and Xbox, as well as a final revised version for Steam on 14th November 2024. The game uses traditional platforming mixed with attacks created by throwing sports balls at enemies. The developer has promised “intense boss battles, brain-teasing puzzles, hidden levels, unlockable stages, visual effects, and bonuses”. There will also be secrets and unlockables to discover in this 90s-inspired action platformer.
It features a cast of colourful sports heroes as they do their best to thwart an alien invasion. Slam and Roll has a solo mode as well as the ability to team up in local co-op mode. Those taking on the challenge can enjoy four different modes. The main one is the Tour mode which is set out as an adventure and aimed at all age ranges and skill levels. The Arcade mode comes in two varieties which aim to create a more challenging experience. The final mode is called Chaos, this innovative mode has different difficulty peaks and new challenges that will appear every few days.
