Atari Addict is a new print magazine from our friends at Addict Media, who publish the monthly print magazines Amiga Addict and Pixel Addict, both of which we’ve previously covered.
Atari Addict will be a new 60-page glossy print magazine that celebrates the history and legacy of Atari and their arcades, home computers and consoles. The one-off magazine will be edited by veteran journalist David Crookes, and features in the mag will include an exclusive interview with Nolan Bushnell, the legendary founder of Atari, in which he discusses iconic Atari arcade cabinets and how the company began.
The mag will also look at the new Atari 2600+ console, as well as covering Atari’s 50th anniversary celebrations, including an interview with Atari 50 music soundtrack composer Bob Baffy.
Elsewhere, there are features on Midi music creation on the Atari ST, an interview with Jez Willis from the band Utah Saints, a history of Atari’s 8-bit computer range and an 800XL restoration, an ST Format magazine retrospective, an Atari demo scene round-up, a feature on the making of Chip’s Challenge, an interview with Pole Position and Lotus Turbo Challenge developer Jonathan Thomas, with a look at his new Atari racing game, a look at the Atari Jaguar, the world’s first 64-bit games console, a celebration of Atari’s Lynx handheld, leading game expert and author Daryl Baxter on what happened to the proposed Atari Panther hardware, and even ‘8 Things To Do With An Atari STE’. With all this, it sounds like Atari Addict will be a must-buy for fans of all things Atari! Atari Addict is up for pre-order direct from the publisher now.
