We recently reported that Clock Tower: Rewind was heading to console and PC this month. The game is now out complete with an official translation from the original Japanese exclusive version. The new release has two modes, original or rewind mode as well as numerous gameplay additions and quality-of-life refinements. The occasion has been marked with a new trailer.
The game has been enhanced by retro publisher WayForward which has added new animated motion comics that include voiceovers and music. There is also an art gallery, music player, behind-the-scenes interview with creator Hifumi Kono, playable Japanese commercial demo, save states, and other modern inclusions.
The game itself has garnered a cult following and fans will be glad to see a favourite get a new English release. It’s known for its atmospheric 2D art, detailed animations, and haunting sound effects that augment the tense point-and-click gameplay. Players will need to run, hide, and survive as they attempt to evade the psychotic Scissorman. Multiple endings and randomized gameplay elements maximize replayability as well as jump scares.
